2015 in Review
Welcome to St. Joe Valley Metronet’s annual review. 2015 truly was a historic year because we celebrated Metronet’s 10th anniversary in September.
Metronet continues its unprecedented growth and now serves more than 200 subscribers with its dark fiber network that extends more than 150 miles through two counties. The virtually unlimited speed and capacity is supporting innovation in education, media, manufacturing and medicine.
2015 saw important expansion of the network. We extended fiber east of Mishawaka, closed loops, increased redundancy and rebuilt infrastructure to better assure reliability, all while adding to the number of service vendors who are offering more and better ways to support subscribers.
Our mission to serve the public continues to grow, with more connections reaching government operations, schools and nonprofit organizations.
All of these achievements mean increased opportunities to support existing subscribers and to attract new ones. Ben Miller joined Metronet’s staff in 2015 as Business Development Manager to grow these opportunities.
